Jone Naikabula, a winger from Nadroga, made a strong impact for Japan by scoring an early try in their international test match against the All Blacks in Yokohama. His effort gave Japan a promising start, but New Zealand, coached by Scott Robertson, quickly turned the tide, scoring seven tries in the first half and three more in the second half, ultimately winning the match 64-19.

New Zealand’s captain and lock Patrick Tuipulotu, number eight Wallace Sititi, and winger Mark Tele’a delivered standout performances, while fly-half Damian McKenzie successfully kicked seven conversions. Shortly after Naikabula’s try, both Tele’a and Tuipulotu scored to put New Zealand ahead.

Japan managed to close the gap with a try from Faulua Makisi, but New Zealand responded with three quick tries from Billy Proctor, Sam Cane, and Samipeni Finau in just eight minutes, maintaining a strong lead. Additionally, Pasilio Tosi and Tamaiti Williams scored before halftime to solidify the All Blacks’ control of the game.

In the second half, Cam Roigard, returning from injury, added another try for New Zealand, while Opeti Helu marked his Japan Test debut with a notable try of his own. All Blacks debutant Ruben Love capped off the match with two tries in the final minutes.

New Zealand will next face England at Twickenham on November 2, followed by matches against Ireland, France, and Italy.
