Fiji-born winger Jone Naikabula made a significant impact in Japan’s 55-20 victory over Canada in the Pacific Nations Cup opener in Vancouver on Monday, scoring a try and showcasing his speed. Naikabula sprinted over 40 meters unchallenged to secure a fantastic try for the Cherry Blossoms and contributed to the setup of additional tries during the match.
Warner Dearns delivered a standout performance, earning the Man of the Match title with two tries, while Japan’s other scorers included Tomoki Osada, Seungsin Lee, Dylan Riley, Kanji Shimokawa, and Malo Tuitama.
In upcoming matches, Samoa will host Tonga at Apia Park on Saturday, following their recent 42-16 loss to Fiji. Canada is set to face the USA Eagles on Monday.
