Nadroga achieved a significant upset in the 2024 FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) at Churchill Park in Lautoka, defeating the defending champions Ba 1-0 in an exciting Group B match.

Following a heavy 7-0 loss to Rewa the previous day, which resulted in the dismissal of their coach Viliame Toma, the Stallions, now led by Fiji U16 coach Sunil Kumar, entered the game with a renewed mindset and determination to improve.

Striker Semesa Sacere proved to be the hero for Nadroga, scoring the only goal in the first half. Although Ba made considerable efforts to regain control of the game and launched various attacks, Nadroga’s defense, bolstered by experienced players Krishneel Dutt and goalkeeper Sakeo Taganeca, held strong against the offensive pressure.

With this comeback victory, Nadroga remains in contention in the tournament and is set to face Nadi in their final group match tomorrow at 2 PM, while RC Manubhai Ba will take on Rewa at 6 PM.
