The Cambridge Farms Nadroga Rugby Union teams and supporters are gearing up for their Skipper Cup celebration, following the receipt of their prize money from the Fiji Rugby Union.
This information was confirmed by NRU President Jiuta Waqavonovono.
Waqavonovono stated that the money was received last Thursday, and he expressed his gratitude to the FRU for the timely delivery.
“We can finally begin our celebration plans. The people of Nadroga have been eagerly awaiting this occasion as we are proud of our players,” he said.
However, Waqavonovono confirmed that this year’s Skipper Cup prize money is $20,000, not the usual $30,000. The Nadroga Under-20 team received $5,000 for winning the Skipper Cup U20 competition.
“We will re-adjust our budget to accommodate our plans. Our sponsors will also be informed about the celebration,” he added.
“Everyone is looking forward to this and we are excited to honor our heroes,” he said.
Waqavonovono also expressed his gratitude to family members and supporters for their continued support throughout the competition.
