A collaborative operation involving officers from the Police Mobile Force (PMF), the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), and the Divisional Operations Team took place in Nadonumai today, resulting in the arrest of three individuals for suspected illegal drug possession.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Livai Driu confirmed that the operation comprised two separate raids in the area. During these raids, authorities discovered substances believed to be marijuana, along with stolen electronic devices and packaging materials linked to drug distribution.
The three suspects are currently in custody at Lami Police Station as further investigations are underway. ACP Driu stated that the focus during this holiday season is to disrupt criminal networks and enhance efforts against illegal activities through strategic raids. He also encouraged the community to play an active role in combating drug-related crimes by reporting suspicious activities to Crime Stoppers at 919.
This proactive initiative by law enforcement underscores their commitment to maintaining public safety and security. By fostering community involvement, the police aim to create a safer environment for all, especially during this festive period when the potential for such activities often increases.
