The Land Transport Authority (LTA) is prioritizing the enhancement of transport services in Nadi as the region experiences rapid growth. Chairman Inosi Kuridrani emphasized the necessity of making these services more accessible to the public, particularly following the inauguration of the new LTA branch office in Waimalika. This development is seen as a crucial step towards fulfilling the Authority’s commitment to providing customer-friendly transport solutions.
Kuridrani stated, “Providing accessible service to the public is the core of LTA’s mandate.” He pointed out that the new office is part of a strategy to meet the evolving needs of stakeholders and improve service delivery efficiency. This office is expected to reduce travel time for residents, thus streamlining processes from vehicle registration to road safety compliance.
The LTA’s objective of investing in infrastructure is significant, especially considering the local context where there are already 27,545 registered vehicles and 33,867 drivers. This number has raised serious challenges surrounding service delays, a concern that Transport Minister Ro Filipe Tuisawau acknowledged during earlier discussions about traffic demands in the Western Division.
With the commissioning of this new office, the LTA aims to establish a “hub of excellence” for the Western Division, enhancing customer experience and transport services. Kuridrani mentioned that their focus will be on strengthening service efficiencies, reducing processing times, and fostering a more responsive transport regulation system.
Overall, this initiative heralds a positive shift for Nadi, promising increased convenience and a more robust transport infrastructure. It reflects a growing recognition of the need for proactive planning amidst rising traffic demands, thus offering hope for improved mobility and service standards in the region. The successful execution of these plans could lead to significant benefits for residents, enhancing both economic activities and the overall quality of life in Nadi as the city evolves.
