Last season’s runner-up, Nadi, showcased their resilience in an intense opening match against Lami during the 2024 Extra Supermarket Futsal Inter District Championship in Suva last night. The team, supported by standout players Patrick Joseph and Rusiate Matarerega, managed to take the lead three times throughout the match, but Lami fought back each time to equalize.
At halftime, the score was tied at 2-2, with Matarerega contributing two goals for Nadi, while Ravneel Pal and Shivneel Chand scored for Lami. In a thrilling second half, Bir Khan put Nadi ahead in the 30th minute, but Lami’s Pal quickly responded to make it 3-3. Khan then worked hard to finally secure the winning goal for Nadi.
Looking ahead, Nadi is set to face Lautoka at 3 PM today, while Lami will play against Labasa at 6 PM.
