Pacific Specialist Healthcare’s birthing facility in Nadi is experiencing notable success, with patients praising their services. The hospital encourages expectant parents to review testimonials and feedback on social media platforms like Facebook and TikTok, where new mothers and fathers have shared positive experiences regarding the arrival of their newborns.
The facility is led by Dr. Tui Taoi, a prominent obstetrician and gynecologist in Fiji. PSH takes pride in having an all-female birthing team consisting of nurses and nursing assistants, ensuring privacy for expectant mothers. This arrangement has been well-received by many families.
PSH’s Director and CEO, Parvish Kumar, noted that the all-female team has garnered appreciation from mothers, with many thanking the facility for their choice. After childbirth, mothers are provided with private rooms equipped with amenities such as television, lounge suites, and beverage-making facilities, designed to resemble five-star hotel accommodations. Fathers are also encouraged to stay with their partners at the hospital.
In recent developments, Kumar expressed satisfaction with the opening of PSH’s Nadi branch 24 hours a day, which began two weeks ago. They have witnessed an increase in patients needing urgent care, including cases of asthma, food poisoning, fever, and acute abdominal pain, particularly from those arriving at the airport.
With a consultancy fee of only $11.50, PSH aims to enhance healthcare access. The hospital is also exploring options to provide some services free of charge, collaborating with foreign companies to make this a reality. Kumar emphasized PSH’s mission to improve health services, promote universal health coverage, and address societal healthcare challenges.
Kumar stated that PSH Hospitals were established to alleviate pressure on public health systems and offer quicker treatment options, with efforts underway to provide essential services free for those in need. He highlighted the unique approach of PSH Hospitals, characterized by empathy in their patient care.
Patients visiting general practitioners at PSH are charged only $11.50, regardless of whether it’s during regular hours or in an emergency. The hospital provides medical procedures at competitive rates and offers financing options for patients who may not afford full costs upfront, with conditions for installment payments for significant treatments.
