Music enthusiasts heading to the UB40 concert in Nadi received a boost as the Fiji Meteorological Service has lifted the heavy rain alert for most areas in the Western Division. This announcement has brought relief to concertgoers who were anxious about inclement weather potentially dampening the highly anticipated event.

The Weather Office confirmed that conditions in the West are improving, alleviating concerns for those planning to travel to and from the concert venue. Although some areas may still experience occasional showers, the cancellation of the heavy rain alert is a positive development for attendees.

However, a trough of low pressure continues to influence weather patterns over the Northern and Eastern regions of the Fiji group. This ongoing weather system is expected to bring associated cloud cover, rain, and showers, particularly affecting the eastern and northern parts of the islands until tomorrow.

Residents and visitors in these regions, including areas such as Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Tailevu, Naitasiri-Ra, Vanua Levu, Lau, Lomaiviti group, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands, should be prepared for occasional rain. Additionally, isolated afternoon or evening thunderstorms may occur, which could lead to localized heavy falls and pose a risk of flash flooding in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

Despite these conditions, the lifting of the heavy rain alert for the Western Division serves as a hopeful sign for music fans eager to enjoy a night of live entertainment without the interruption of troublesome weather.
