A new fencing initiative aimed at enhancing safety around the Sri Sanatan Dharam Wailoaloa Laxmi Vishnu Temple in Nadi has been launched, backed by government support. Minister for Multi-Ethnic Affairs, Culture, Heritage, Arts and Public Enterprises, Charan Jeath Singh, inaugurated the project.
Funded through the Multi-Ethnic Grant Program for the upcoming 2024–2025 financial year, the initiative received $9,672 from the government to cover the cost of fencing materials. Notably, the community and temple management contributed their time and effort voluntarily to handle the labor for the construction.
Minister Singh emphasized the importance of the project, stating that it not only enhances the safety of the temple grounds but also demonstrates the government’s commitment to bolstering community organizations. This initiative is poised to promote unity and social cohesion throughout Fiji, showcasing a collaborative spirit that benefits all. The project reflects a hopeful step towards greater community involvement and safety, reinforcing strong ties within the community.
