Nadi Sports and Social Club emerged victorious in the first-ever Ladies Business House Bowls Competition last week, marking a significant achievement for women’s participation in the sport. The team, which included players Tascheen Stuart, Raijieli Jamieson, Anita Devi, Laisani Sinu, and Shami Devi, secured a narrow win against Lautoka Wonder Women, with a final score of 16-13.
The Lautoka Wonder Women team featured Bikashni Dass, Dinusha Chandima, Pritika Singh, and Ms. Low. Shamal Kumar, the club secretary, expressed pride in the outcome, emphasizing that this inaugural ladies-only event is a noteworthy milestone for the sport, particularly for women in Nadi.
Kumar congratulated the Nadi Sports Club team on their win and praised all participants for their sportsmanship and efforts throughout the competition. The results included the Plate Final where Alligators defeated Fiji Airways 32-4, the Bowl Final with Zens Wonder Women overcoming Centrecom 16-9, and the Shield Final where Tourism Fiji bested Wormald Security 18-8.
