Nadi Sports Club Makes History at Women’s Bowls Championship!

Nadi Sports and Social Club claimed victory in the inaugural Ladies Business House Bowls Competition held last week. The team’s roster, featuring Tascheen Stuart, Raijieli Jamieson, Anita Devi, Laisani Sinu, and Shami Devi, triumphed over Lautoka Wonder Women with a score of 16-13 in the grand finale. Lautoka Wonder Women, who put up a strong fight, included players Bikashni Dass, Dinusha Chandima, Pritika Singh, and Ms. Low.

Club secretary Shamal Kumar highlighted the significance of this first-ever ladies-only competition, viewing it as an important milestone for women’s bowling in Nadi. “Congratulations to the Nadi Sports Club team for their hard-fought victory in the Cup Final, and a big shout out to all teams for their amazing efforts and sportsmanship throughout the competition,” he remarked. Kumar noted that this event not only showcased competitive spirit but also set a foundation for women’s representation in the sport, as the winning team will collaborate with NSSC to create a dedicated women’s team.

Expressing gratitude, he thanked all participants, supporters, and organizers for contributing to the event’s success and making it memorable.

– Plate Final: Alligators 32 – 4 Fiji Airways
– Bowl Final: Zens Wonder Women 16 – 9 Centrecom
– Shield Final: Tourism Fiji 18 – 8 Wormald Security
