Nadi Muslim College has officially commenced construction on its long-awaited multi-purpose hall after more than two decades of planning, marking a significant milestone in the school’s development. The groundbreaking ceremony coincided with the opening of the 2025 Nadi Muslim College Carnival, a three-day fundraising event aimed at financing the project.

Principal Mohammed Feroz expressed his enthusiastic vision for the hall, describing it as more than just a physical structure. He emphasized that it would serve as a vital community hub, facilitating various educational, spiritual, and social events. He stated, “The school hall will not simply be a building of walls and roofs. It will be a place of learning, a space of safety, a stage of creativity… It will be a hub of life and learning for students of every level and background.”

The college has already raised over $192,000 for the project, with an additional target of $100,000 set to continue the construction process. Education Minister Aseri Radrodro emphasized the importance of the fundraising drive, which he portrayed as a commitment to securing the future of education in the community. “Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to the new school hall and to creating a lasting impact on the students of Nadi Muslim College,” he stated.

This initiative reflects a positive trend in Fiji, where educational institutions are increasingly focused on improving infrastructure to enhance student experience. Similar projects have been observed at schools such as Vunimono High School and Vatukaloko Secondary School, which aim to create multifunctional learning and gathering spaces. Such investments reinforce community involvement in educational improvements and illustrate a broader commitment to fostering holistic educational environments throughout Fiji.

By continuing to engage the community and secure necessary funding, Nadi Muslim College is taking significant strides toward establishing an enriching educational facility that promises to enhance the lives of its students and the broader community.

The anticipation surrounding this project is a beacon of hope, representing a collective effort to uplift educational standards and provide students with a nurturing environment to thrive.
