Kumar shared positive projections for the concert, indicating that hotel and tourism sector members expect high room occupancy rates during the concert week. “Bookings have been coming in well ahead of January 30,” he noted, emphasizing the favorable outlook for the event.
This internationally staged concert is expected to provide a substantial boost to the economy in Nadi. The anticipated economic growth will particularly benefit the transport and tax sectors.
Additionally, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are likely to thrive from this event. Kumar mentioned that local food vendors and businesses producing merchandise, such as UB40 T-shirts, stand to gain significantly. “This concert is expected to generate considerable economic activity, benefiting not just Nadi but the entire country,” he remarked.
He also highlighted that Nadi businesses have strategically prepared for the event, leveraging the experiences and successes from previous major concerts held in the area in 2024 and 2025. As Nadi gears up for this highly anticipated concert, the outlook remains hopeful for a vibrant and economically rewarding event that can uplift the local community.
