Nadi-based Mahajibhai Hardware has announced its sponsorship of the district football team ahead of the FMF Inter-District Championship 2024. The company presented a cheque of $7,500 during a ceremony in Martintar, Nadi, marking its inaugural support for the team.
Company director Sudhish Patel expressed his commitment to supporting Nadi Football and its community, praising the players for their hard work and improved performance. He expressed hope that the team would win the tournament and bring home the trophy.
Nadi Football Association president Mohin Rafiq described the sponsorship from Mahajibhai Hardware as a significant blessing for the Nadi football community, especially during these challenging times for sponsorships. He announced that the team would be referred to as Mahajibhai Hardware/Calgary Nadi due to having two principal sponsors.
Rafiq extended his gratitude to head coach Raj Dayal and all supporters, including those from Calgary and around the world, as the team prepares for the upcoming tournament. He assured that the coaching staff and board are fully supportive of the team’s preparations and emphasized their determination to perform well.
Nadi is set to face off against the defending champions Ba in its opening match next Tuesday at Churchill Park in Lautoka. The Nadi squad comprises players including Ratu Halstead, Vishant Reddy, and Shaheel Valentine, among others.
