Nadi FC secured their spot in the upcoming Fiji FACT tournament after a decisive 5-2 victory against Navua FC in their Extra Premier League match at Prince Charles Park. The Jetsetters dominated the game, leading 3-1 at halftime with Eneriko Matau scoring twice and veteran Rusiate Matarerega adding another goal. Navua’s only response in the first half came from Brian Charitar.

In the second half, Nadi continued to apply pressure, with Apolosi Seru adding two more goals to their tally. Although Rahul Krishna of Navua managed to net a goal, it was insufficient to turn the tide for his team.

Nadi’s head coach, Raj Dayal, expressed his satisfaction with the performance, acknowledging both the strengths displayed and areas for improvement: “They did what we practiced. Despite a few errors, they played well. I thank God for the strength and unity He has blessed the boys with.” He emphasized that this win is just a stepping stone as they prepare to face Rewa next.

On the other side, Navua’s coach Saiyad Ali recognized the challenges his team faced. He congratulated Nadi on their qualification for the Fiji FACT and noted the need for his players to address issues like fitness and performance levels.

This strong performance from Nadi reinforces their momentum in the league, building on prior successes where they also convincingly defeated teams like Tavua FC. The positive outlook for Nadi this season is evident, as they continue to improve and aim for even greater achievements.

As the league progresses, fans remain hopeful and excited about Nadi’s journey in both the Premier League and the upcoming Fiji FACT tournament.
