Veteran defender Ame Votoniu scored a crucial equalizer in the second half, helping Nadi secure a 1-1 draw against Labasa in their Digicel Fiji Premier League Round 15 match at Prince Charles Park. Labasa got off to a strong start, taking the lead just two minutes into the game with a goal from Solomon Islands player Tigi Molea.

Nadi’s Apolosi Seru and Siotame Kubu missed significant scoring opportunities, while Labasa’s Christopher Wasasala, Melvin Mani, and Akeimi Ralulu were thwarted three times by Nadi’s goalkeeper, Joela Biuvanua. Despite Labasa maintaining a 1-0 advantage at halftime, Nadi shifted the momentum late in the match. A well-executed attacking play by Captain William Valentine allowed Votoniu to elevate above the defense and score with a header, leaving Labasa’s goalkeeper Joji Vuakaca unable to make a save.

Following the match, Labasa holds 29 points from 15 matches, remaining in second place, while Nadi sits in fifth with 22 points.
