Fans can expect an exciting weekend at the Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice Cream Battle of the Giants tournament semi-final clashes. Nadi is gearing up to end a 28-year dry spell and is hopeful of reawakening the sleeping giant.

Known as the “Green Machine,” Nadi is preparing for a strong performance against Suva in their semi-final match. Throughout the tournament, Nadi’s impressive form led them to finish at the top of Group B in the pool rounds, fueling their ambition to break their long-standing BOG drought.

Fans are eager and optimistic that Nadi will return home with the trophy, 28 years after their last title win in 1996. Head coach Raj Dayal is confident in the team’s preparation and abilities, emphasizing the importance of focusing on ball work and fitness for success in the upcoming match.

“The boys are performing well in the tournament, and with Suva coming in strong, we anticipate a tough match,” said Dayal. “Our priorities are improving ball work and fitness. We are working on the players’ fitness levels as well as their ball work. The team is amazing.”

Dayal is calling for all fans and supporters to rally behind the team in full force as they aim to secure the trophy.

The semi-finals will take place at the HFC Bank Stadium on Saturday. Lautoka will face Rewa in the first semi-final at 2pm, while Nadi will take on Suva at 4.30pm.
