The Nadera Panthers rugby league team is enjoying a remarkable start to the Vodafone Cup competition, securing three consecutive victories without a loss. In their latest match held on Saturday at Bidesi Park, the Panthers showcased their dominance by defeating the Serua Dragons with a score of 30-4.
The Panthers kicked off their season with an impressive win against the defending champions, the Vusu Raiders, and followed it up with another victory over the Makoi Bulldogs, affirming their status as serious contenders in the tournament. Head coach Vula Dakuitoga, who has been an integral part of the team since its inception in 1992, expressed pride in his players’ performances but emphasizes that the focus remains on their goals rather than the identity of their opponents.
Dakuitoga stated, “Preparation has been the same every time; we didn’t see the team. We have a target, and that is what we will be focusing on.” He underlines the importance of maintaining a strong commitment to their targets, which include remaining unbeaten throughout the competition. Despite acknowledging the potential for mistakes during matches, he is pleased with the overall effort and discipline displayed by the team.
As the Panthers look ahead, they remain hungry for even more success, hoping to build on their impressive start and continue to refine their skills in both defense and attack. Fans will undoubtedly be keen to follow their journey as they aim for further victories in the Vodafone Cup.
