Nadarivatu High School has achieved a remarkable milestone with a 100 percent pass rate in the 2024 Year 12 Certificate Exams, a feat attributed to the school’s innovative approach to teaching. Assistant Principal Maloni Takosewa highlighted that providing teachers with the freedom to explore creative teaching methods significantly contributed to this success.
According to Takosewa, the school’s administration emphasizes empowering staff to develop ideas that enhance student learning. For instance, the internal examination timetable was revised to better suit students’ preferences, promoting a more effective learning atmosphere. Additionally, the incorporation of technology as a learning tool enabled students to conduct research and study in more comfortable settings, including outdoor environments.
Takosewa expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts that fostered a supportive learning community, emphasizing the role of Principal Apisalome Vunisa, teachers, and parents in this achievement. He noted that initiatives such as morning, midday, and afternoon prayer sessions provided students with a mental space to overcome barriers to their education.
Education Minister Aseri Radrodro praised Nadarivatu High School alongside several other institutions, such as Levuka Public School and Rabi High School, for their outstanding performance. Overall, 12,020 students participated in the Year 12 Certificate Exams in 2025, with a national pass rate of 74 percent, marking a slight decline from the previous year’s rate of 76 percent. The results reflect the positive impact of community collaboration and innovative teaching methodologies on student success.
