A mysterious ship docked at Lautoka Wharf has captured public interest as it awaits dry docking. The maritime vessel Yavirau has connections to several local figures, including well-known businessman Wella Pillay, who is rumored to have acquired the ship for a Fijian chief living overseas. Although the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji is unaware of the vessel’s ownership or any plans for it, reports indicate that the Yavirau belongs to Tui Lakeba, Ratu Tevita Mara. The vessel, which flies a Mongolian flag, is currently undergoing maintenance after arriving in Lautoka a few days ago.
