Mystery Vessel Sparks Curiosity at Lautoka Wharf

A mysterious ship docked at Lautoka Wharf has caught the public’s eye as it prepares for dry docking. The maritime vessel Yavirau has several local connections, including prominent businessman Wella Pillay, who is rumored to have acquired the ship for a Fijian chief living overseas. Although the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji has not confirmed details regarding the vessel’s ownership or its future plans, sources indicate that Yavirau actually belongs to Tui Lakeba, Ratu Tevita Mara. The vessel, flying a Mongolian flag, is currently undergoing maintenance following its arrival in Lautoka a few days ago.
