A mysterious ship docked at Lautoka wharf has attracted public curiosity as it prepares for dry docking. The vessel, known as Yavirau, has connections to local figures, including well-known businessman Wella Pillay, who is rumored to have acquired it on behalf of a Fijian chief living overseas. Although the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji has not confirmed any details regarding the vessel’s ownership or future plans, sources reveal that the Yavirau is owned by Tui Lakeba, Ratu Tevita Mara. Currently flying a Mongolian flag, the ship is undergoing maintenance after arriving in Lautoka a few days ago.
