Traffic investigators are seeking the public’s help to identify the victim of a tragic road accident that took place in the Southern Division early in the morning on April 1st. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mitieli Divuana, the victim is a man believed to be in his late 20s. He was found lying on Queens Road near Talenaua, Navua, when a vehicle, driven by a 36-year-old man, struck him around 1 a.m.
Despite being swiftly transported to Navua Hospital, the man was declared dead upon arrival. The police continue their investigation but have yet to determine the victim’s identity. SSP Divuana has described the victim as an i-taukei male and has released images of his clothing as well as a distinctive tattoo on his left arm in hopes that it will aid in identification.
The authorities encourage anyone who might have information about the victim or the incident to contact the Traffic Investigation Unit at 9905 633. As the investigation progresses, police are hopeful that leads will emerge to provide answers and closure for this unfortunate event.
