Police are appealing for the public’s help in identifying a man who tragically lost his life in a road accident in the Southern Division on the morning of December 1. The victim, thought to be in his late 20s, was discovered lying in the middle of Queens Road near Talenaua in Navua when a vehicle, driven by a 36-year-old man, struck him around 1 a.m. Despite being rushed to Navua Hospital, he was sadly pronounced dead upon arrival.
Senior Superintendent of Police Mitieli Divuana confirmed that investigations are still underway, and the man’s identity remains unknown. Described as an i-taukei male, police have shared images of the victim’s clothing and a distinctive tattoo on his left arm to assist in recognition. They encourage anyone with information to contact the Traffic Investigation Unit at 9905 633.
