Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has confirmed that his office received a complaint regarding Permanent Secretary Pita Wise, which he subsequently forwarded to Parmesh Chand, the Permanent Secretary for Civil Service.

In comments to the media, Rabuka mentioned that he learned Wise had resigned immediately following a meeting with Luke Rokovada, the Chairperson of the Public Service Commission.

Although the Prime Minister did not disclose details about the complaint, he indicated that he has recommended several candidates to the PSC for temporary replacement of the role. Additionally, he has urged former Permanent Secretaries from the Office of the Prime Minister to express their interest in the acting position.

Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police – Crime Mesake Waqa stated that no reports have been filed regarding the matter. The PSC had earlier announced that Wise resigned voluntarily from the civil service for personal reasons.
