Authorities are currently investigating the death of Jason Rigby, a 41-year-old acting manager at the Crowne Plaza in Wailoaloa, Nadi. Rigby, who hailed from Gold Coast, Australia, was discovered unresponsive in a hotel bathroom on Saturday morning around 8 a.m. His remains have been transported to the Nadi Hospital mortuary, where they await a post-mortem examination.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Wame Bautolu confirmed that while the death is being treated as a case of interest, there is currently no criminal investigation underway. The ongoing inquiry aims to gather more details surrounding the circumstances of Rigby’s passing.

In a statement released on December 14, 2024, Shaun Parsons, the General Manager of Crowne Plaza Fiji Nadi Bay, expressed the hotel’s deep sorrow over the loss of Rigby. He assured that the hotel is in contact with Rigby’s family, offering them support during this challenging time and requesting privacy for them as they navigate their grief.
