Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas have publicly endorsed Kamala Harris for president, choosing her over Donald Trump. In a collaborative video shared on Instagram, the Grammy and Oscar-winning siblings marked National Voter Registration Day by urging their fans to register and vote, specifically for the Kamala Harris-Tim Walz campaign.
Eilish expressed their support by stating, “We are voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz because they are fighting to protect our reproductive freedom, our planet and our democracy.” Finneas emphasized the importance of voting to combat extremist forces, saying, “We can’t let extremists control our lives, our freedoms, and our future. The only way to stop them and the dangerous Project 2025 agenda is to vote and elect Kamala Harris.” Eilish added, “Vote like your life depends on it, because it does.”
The pair joins a growing list of music stars backing Harris, with Taylor Swift being one of the most notable endorsements. Shortly after the first presidential debate between Harris and Trump, Swift released a supportive statement, highlighting Harris’s dedication to rights and causes she believes in. Swift described Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader” and noted the potential for the country to achieve more under her leadership.
Hillary Clinton also recently commented on the significance of celebrity endorsements in motivating fanbases to vote. She mentioned Swift’s influence, stating, “Her fanbase is so intense and incredibly influenced by her… she has demonstrated a resilience in taking control over her own life that sends a strong message.” Clinton praised Swift’s endorsement as having real impact.
