A couple from Sigatoka, Mohammed Naushad and Nazreen Nisha Khan, who are facing charges for the murder of an 18-year-old student, is set to appear again at the High Court in Lautoka tomorrow. They are jointly charged with one count of murder, while Naushad also faces an additional charge of criminal intimidation.
The allegations state that the couple forced the victim to consume a chemical at a residence in Maro, Sigatoka, on June 30, 2022. The pair appeared before Justice Riyaz Hamza yesterday. However, the court was informed by the State that the complainant, their daughter and the main witness, was unavailable due to her exams. Defense attorney Iqbal Khan did not oppose the motion to reschedule the trial for tomorrow. Additionally, the couple’s bail application was withdrawn in court yesterday.
