A couple from Sigatoka, Mohammed Naushad and Nazreen Nisha Khan, who are jointly charged with the murder of an 18-year-old student, is set to appear in the Lautoka High Court tomorrow. They face one count of murder, while Naushad is also charged with an additional count of criminal intimidation.
The allegations state that the couple forced the victim to ingest a chemical at their home in Maro, Sigatoka, on June 30, 2022. They were present in court yesterday before Justice Riyaz Hamza. However, the State informed the court that their daughter, the main witness in the case, was unavailable due to exams.
Defense attorney Iqbal Khan did not oppose rescheduling the trial to tomorrow. Additionally, the couple’s bail application was withdrawn in court during the proceedings.
