A 24-year-old man, Kali Masibalavu, has been remanded by the Magistrates Court on charges of murder following the death of a 25-year-old man in Suva last Saturday. Masibalavu appeared in court before Resident Magistrate Jeremaia Savou, who noted that the alleged incident took place outside Suva Harbour Centre.

Due to the serious nature of the charge, Magistrate Savou denied bail, and the case has been forwarded to the High Court for further proceedings. The next court date is set for November 19, where there will be discussions regarding the bail application and other aspects of the case.

This situation underscores the seriousness of violent crimes and their impact on communities. It is hoped that the judicial process will be thorough and fair, ensuring justice for all parties involved. In times like these, it is important for the community to come together, promote peace, and support one another in healing and reflection.
