Murder investigations have been initiated into two men in Savusavu who were already facing charges for aggravated robbery. This development comes after the tragic death of an 86-year-old victim who had been assaulted during the robbery.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Mesake Waqa, the two suspects were previously charged for breaking into the home of the retired businessman in Nagigi, Savusavu, where they assaulted him and stole various items. The victim sadly succumbed to his injuries on April 27, 2025, leading authorities to upgrade the charges to murder.

Waqa emphasized the Fiji Police Force’s commitment to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death. The police are determined to ensure justice is served in this case.
