A man in his 40s has been charged in connection with the death of a 70-year-old man. The incident occurred on the afternoon of November 2, 2024, when the accused allegedly assaulted the elderly victim while under the influence of alcohol at the Namadai Settlement, leading to serious injuries.
Following the assault, the victim was transported to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital, where he remained until his passing on November 5. As a result, the accused has been charged with one count of murder and is scheduled to appear in court today at the Suva Magistrates Court.
