An unemployed 38-year-old man is set to appear in the Magistrate Court in Suva this morning, facing charges of murder in connection with the death of a 32-year-old man. This incident occurred during a drinking party in Vatuwaqa, which involved the accused and six other individuals.
According to authorities, the tragic events unfolded on New Year’s Eve when the victim joined the suspect and others for festivities. Early on New Year’s Day, a physical altercation ensued between the two men, culminating in the suspect allegedly assaulting the victim until he was left unconscious on the floor. The suspect then transported the victim to the CWM Hospital, where the victim was later pronounced dead.
