Multiple Drug Raids Lead to Seven Arrests Across the Country

Seven individuals were arrested in separate drug raids conducted nationwide within the last 24 hours.

In Kadavu, authorities apprehended two men at the Vunisea jetty after discovering dried leaves suspected to be marijuana, along with smoking paraphernalia.

In the Eastern Division, a 22-year-old man was arrested in Koronivia for possession of several zip lock bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine, and cash suspected to be crime proceeds.

In the Western Division, two men were arrested in Rakiraki after they were found with dried leaves suspected to be marijuana.

In the Northern Division, raids on several farms in the Savusavu area resulted in the seizure of nearly 1,000 plants believed to be marijuana from three different farms. One arrest was made in connection with these raids.

A 20-year-old farmer was taken into custody following a raid in Naweni.

In Taveuni, a 42-year-old man was arrested after dried plant materials believed to be marijuana were found in his workshop and backyard.

All suspects remain in custody as investigations are ongoing.
