Multiple Drug Raids Across Country Lead to Seven Arrests

Seven individuals were apprehended in separate drug raids conducted nationwide within the last 24 hours.

In Kadavu, two men were arrested at the Vunisea jetty after authorities discovered dried leaves suspected to be marijuana, along with smoking paraphernalia.

In the Eastern Division, a 22-year-old man was detained in Koronivia when he was found with multiple zip lock bags containing white crystals suspected to be methamphetamine, as well as cash believed to be proceeds from criminal activities.

In the Western Division, two men were arrested in Rakiraki for possession of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana.

In the Northern Division, raids on farms in the Savusavu area led to the seizure of nearly 1,000 plants suspected to be marijuana from three different locations, resulting in one arrest.

A 20-year-old farmer was taken into custody following a raid in Naweni. In Taveuni, a 42-year-old man was arrested after dried plant materials believed to be marijuana were found in his workshop and backyard.

The suspects are currently in custody as investigations continue.
