In the preceding quarterfinal, Muaniweni faced a nail-biting match against Guru Nanak Khalsa College, which ended in a 12-all draw. Thanks to tournament rules, Muaniweni advanced because they scored the first try. This thrilling conclusion showcased the determination of both teams and the intense rivalry present.
Sanjelesh Nand stated, “This is only the beginning. There are still two big games to go, and we’ll be focusing on fixing minor errors and improving discipline before next week.” He acknowledged the dedication and hard work of the players, coaching staff, and the entire school community in building towards this success.
The girls’ commitment since early in the school term has been commendable, with continuous training even during breaks. The overwhelming support from their home base in Naitasiri has further fueled the team’s motivation. The semifinals are set to take place on the 16th of this month at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, where they hope to carry their momentum forward.
This success comes at a time when the spirit of sportsmanship and dedication to the game are shining brightly in the Under-18 circuit. Muaniweni College’s progress serves as an inspiration to younger athletes, embodying the notion that hard work and perseverance can lead to significant achievements. It creates a hopeful narrative for those involved in sports, encouraging them to pursue their dreams with determination and passion.
