Member of Parliament Sanjay Kirpal is urging the Government to take immediate action in supplying food rations to those impacted by recent flooding. Representing the Nadi region, Kirpal emphasized the dire situation in areas like Korovuto, Nawaka, and Vuniyasi, which have suffered significantly due to heavy rainfall.
“In response to the crisis, I have organized a team of volunteers who are reaching out to those in distress. We are providing grocery packages to bring some much-needed relief to affected individuals and families,” Kirpal stated. He highlighted the necessity of ensuring that evacuation centers, particularly those housing families with young children, receive adequate food and essential supplies.
Kirpal acknowledged the challenges authorities face in mobilizing immediate relief but stressed that a concerted effort from the Government would greatly benefit citizens nationwide who have been severely impacted by the floods occurring on Christmas Day.
This call to action reflects not only the urgency of the situation but also the compassion within communities, as local leaders and volunteers unite to support one another during difficult times. The situation serves as a reminder of the importance of timely government intervention and community solidarity in the face of natural disasters.
