Montoya Makes a Triumphant Return to Bulldogs!

Former Fiji Bati representative Marcelo Montoya is making a return to Belmore after signing a two-year contract with the Canterbury Bulldogs. The 28-year-old re-establishes his connection with his junior club after spending four years in New Zealand, during which he scored 30 tries in 82 games for the Warriors.

Montoya started his career with Canterbury, progressing through the Harold Matthews Cup and National Youth Competition before making his NRL debut in 2017. Bulldogs General Manager of Football Phil Gould expressed his satisfaction, noting, “It’s always pleasing to bring a local junior back home.”

Gould highlighted Montoya’s passion and versatility in the backline, stating that his experience would enhance the Bulldogs’ squad as he embarks on this new chapter in his career.

In another development, the Gold Coast Titans have confirmed the signing of former Fiji Bati prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard for a three-year deal beginning in 2025. The 31-year-old brings a wealth of experience to the Titans, having played 221 NRL games for Penrith and Parramatta, as well as representing the Blues and Kangaroos in State of Origin and international competitions.

Titans coach Des Hasler welcomed Campbell-Gillard, describing him as a “no-nonsense front rower” with a strong work ethic who has been a consistent presence in the NRL for the last decade.
