Mokani Rugby Club secures third-year sponsorship from FA & Company, providing wet-weather gear for officials
The Mokani Rugby Club in Tailevu has announced a third consecutive year of backing from FA & Company, with the legal firm this time supplying wet-weather gear for the club’s officials as part of its continued commitment to grassroots rugby.
Isireli Fa, head of FA & Company, said he was proud to sponsor the Mokani club and highlighted the officials’ leadership and financial stewardship as key strengths off the field. “As I got to know the officials of the club better, I realise that their strength is off the field. For the last three years of my dealings with the club, they have really impressed me,” Fa said. He added that the club’s disciplined approach to budgeting, accountability, and sponsorship has delivered value beyond what they expected from supporting grassroots rugby, noting that the gear is a token of appreciation for the officials’ hard work.
Joseph Rodan Sr., president of Mokani Rugby Club, echoed the gratitude for FA & Company’s ongoing support and emphasized the tangible impact sponsorship has had on the club’s growth and success. Rodan pointed to the sponsor’s contribution as a catalyst for Mokani’s emergence as one of Tailevu’s top clubs. He also cited the broader benefits of such partnerships, including strengthened governance within the club, as evidenced by eight officials being elected to tailevu rugby union leadership in recent years, underscoring the positive ripple effects of sustained sponsorship.
This development comes as Mokani Rugby Club continues to expand its strategic partnerships. Earlier in 2025, the club announced two MOUs aimed at boosting its merchandise program and community reach: one with Life After Rugby to produce and distribute overseas merchandise, and another with the Former and Current Forwards Pack to manage local merchandise sales. Both agreements emphasize transparency, brand design processes, and performance reporting, signaling a broader, sustainable growth plan that aligns with the club’s roots.
The Mokani sponsorship is part of a wider pattern of local businesses backing grassroots rugby across Fiji. Recent collaborations in Tailevu and the surrounding region—such as Taras Supermarket’s support for Tailevu events and other large-scale sponsorships—highlight a growing community investment in young talent and regional development through sport. The positive trend reflects a shared belief that grassroots rugby can unify communities and foster long-term development.
Overall, the continued partnership with FA & Company, alongside Mokani’s expanding merchandise framework and community-oriented sponsorships, positions the club for a promising future. The investment not only strengthens the club’s equipment and resources but also reinforces the social fabric of Tailevu rugby, encouraging more youths to engage with the sport and pursue leadership opportunities within the game.
