The body found in Tamaivua-i-Wai has been confirmed to belong to a 15-year-old student from Samabula who had been reported missing since Christmas Eve. According to police reports, the teenager had left his home with friends to head to Suva City and did not return.

His family searched extensively for him, reaching out to relatives and friends, and eventually went to the Samabula Police Station to file a missing person report. Tragically, on the following day, a 30-year-old man stumbled upon the body and immediately contacted authorities.

The victim’s parents were able to identify him based on the clothing found at the scene. Police have stated that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death are still ongoing, as they work to gather more information to understand what occurred.

This heartbreaking incident highlights the vulnerability of youth and the importance of community vigilance. While the investigation continues, it also underscores the impact of loss and the need for support during such trying times.
