Miss Universe Fiji contestants visited the maternity ward at Navua Hospital yesterday as part of their community activities. During the visit, they engaged with Dr. Kapil Swamy, SDMO for Serua/Namosi, midwife Samantha Banner from the Navua Maternity Unit, and Salote Matanayawa, Commander of the Navua Command Centre. The contestants took the opportunity to ask about the current issues faced by young mothers in the country.
In addition, the contestants participated in an educational session led by Melissa White, director of the International Seakeepers Society South Pacific, focusing on oceanographic research and conservation. The event was part of the lead-up to the 2024 Miss Universe Fiji National Final, with Miss Universe Fiji partnering with The Pearl Resort & Spa as the official host.
The crowning of Miss Universe Fiji will take place tonight at Pacific Harbour.
