Miss Universe Fiji contestants visited the maternity ward at Navua Hospital yesterday as part of their community activities.
During the visit, they engaged with Dr. Kapil Swamy, the Senior District Medical Officer for Serua/Namosi, midwife Samantha Banner from the Navua Maternity Unit, and Commander Salote Matanayawa from the Navua Command Centre. The contestants inquired about current challenges faced by young mothers in the country.
In addition, they took part in an educational session led by Melissa White, the director of the International Seakeepers Society for the South Pacific, focusing on oceanographic research and conservation efforts.
The event also highlighted Miss Universe Fiji’s partnership with The Pearl Resort & Spa, which is the official host of the 2024 Miss Universe Fiji National Final. The crowning of Miss Universe Fiji is scheduled to take place tonight in Pacific Harbour.
