Contestants of Miss Universe Fiji visited the maternity ward at Navua Hospital yesterday as part of their community engagement activities. During their visit, they met with Dr. Kapil Swamy, the Senior Doctor for Serua and Namosi, midwife Samantha Banner from Navua’s Maternity Unit, and Salote Matanayawa, Commander of the Navua Command Centre. The contestants inquired about the current challenges faced by young mothers in the country.
The participants also took part in an educational class led by Melissa White, director of the International Seakeepers Society for the South Pacific, focusing on oceanographic research and conservation. Miss Universe Fiji has partnered with The Pearl Resort & Spa as the official host for the 2024 Miss Universe Fiji National Final.
The crowning of Miss Universe Fiji will take place tonight at Pacific Harbour.
