The Miss Universe Fiji contestants visited the maternity ward at Navua Hospital yesterday as part of their activities. During the visit, they engaged with Dr. Kapil Swamy, SDMO Serua/Namosi, midwife Samantha Banner from the Navua Maternity Unit, and Salote Matanayawa, Commander Navua Command Centre. The contestants inquired about current challenges facing young mothers in the country.
Additionally, they took part in an education class led by Melissa White, director of the International Seakeepers Society for the South Pacific, focusing on oceanographic research and conservation. The Miss Universe Fiji event is being hosted by The Pearl Resort & Spa, which is the official venue for the 2024 Miss Universe Fiji National Final.
The crowning of Miss Universe Fiji will take place tonight in Pacific Harbour.
