Allegations of rape have emerged in connection with Miss Universe Fiji 2024, shortly after a dissatisfied runner-up questioned the selection of Manshika Prasad as the winner.
The pageant has been plagued by issues including the resignation of judges, outstanding payments, and disputes surrounding the crown, overshadowing its comeback.
Currently, police are investigating rape allegations tied to an after-party on the night of the crowning, held at Pacific Harbour.
This latest development intensifies the controversy around the event, which took place at The Pearl South Pacific Resort. In addition to these issues, Miss Universe Fiji has relieved its judges and has not yet resolved payment issues with service providers two weeks post the invitation-only event held in Deuba.
