Miss Hibiscus Festival 2024 will introduce a brand-new format with a highly anticipated Presentation Show. This elegant event will replace the traditional Public Judging events that have been a festival staple for years.
Scheduled for Wednesday, September 4 at the Suva Civic Centre, the Presentation Show promises a spectacular evening showcasing the poise, etiquette, public speaking skills, and rich cultural heritage of Fiji.
Opetaia Ravai, Chairperson of the Hibiscus Standing Committee, emphasized the significance of this new format. “The Presentation Show will highlight our strong Fijian culture while giving the contestants an opportunity to showcase their poise and public speaking abilities in a refined and elegant setting,” he said. “This is not just a beauty pageant; it’s a celebration of our heritage and the grace of our contestants.”
Produced by renowned Miss Hibiscus Creative Director Andhy Blake, the Presentation Show will bring a touch of international flair to the festival. Blake, who brings extensive experience from the Miss World Organisation, promises a production that incorporates the elegance and grandeur of global pageantry into the Miss Hibiscus platform.
“This show is a departure from the traditional ‘Question and Answer’ format that has been televised for the past 16 years. Instead, it will be a stunning production that elevates the pageant to new heights,” Blake explained.
The Presentation Show will feature 10 talented contestants who will captivate the audience with their grace and eloquence. Unlike previous years, the focus will be on a polished and sophisticated presentation that reflects the contestants’ dedication and the festival’s commitment to cultural enrichment.
The Miss Hibiscus Festival has long been a cherished tradition in Fiji, and the introduction of the Presentation Show marks an exciting evolution in its history.
