This Friday, the winner of the Miss Cakaudrove Youth title will be crowned at Narain Park in Savusavu, featuring a stunning crown adorned with 59 pearls. Aubrey Whippy, the carnival coordinator for the Cakaudrove Multi-Ethnic Youth and Sports Festival, revealed that 14 contestants from 12 different districts are competing for the Miss Cakaudrove Youth and Miss Charity titles. These contestants include representatives from Rabi Island and Kailoma.
The festival’s festivities will kick off today at 10 AM with a march from the Savusavu Court House to Narain Park. The pageant will culminate in a closing ceremony on Friday at 3 PM, with the crowning ceremonies scheduled for 7 PM, honored by the presence of Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
Whippy expressed gratitude to J Hunter Pearls for the beautiful crown and to Shane Bower for sponsoring the crown for Miss Charity. “This event promises to be a full day and night program over four days,” he stated, emphasizing the importance of youth development in Cakaudrove, with proceeds from the event going toward this cause. Entry to the park will be free, marking a significant milestone as the inaugural event organized by the Cakaudrove Youth Provincial Council.
This initiative not only showcases the talents and aspirations of local youth but also fosters community spirit and aims to contribute positively to youth development in the region.
