Maria Sauvou expresses deep gratitude toward the Sai Prema Foundation hospital, crediting them with saving her daughter from the struggles of Rheumatic Heart Disease. Ulamila Naivalu, 16, has endured this illness since her diagnosis at the age of one.

“It has been a long and challenging fifteen years for us. I am incredibly relieved that Ulamila underwent a successful operation on Thursday,” Ms. Sauvou remarked. “It felt like a heavy weight was lifted from my shoulders. My daughter can now live freely.”

She shared her relief about the end of their struggles: “No more worries, no more sleepless nights, no more pain, no more injections.” Despite the challenges, Ms. Sauvou always aimed to create a supportive environment for Ulamila, encouraging her through difficult times.

“When her heart would weaken, I would take her to the hospital immediately for her treatment. Those moments were tough, particularly for Ulamila,” she recounted. “However, with our family’s support and constant prayers, Ulamila persisted through the hardships.”

For years, Ms. Sauvou sought surgical options for her daughter, and ultimately, the Sai Prema Children Hospital provided the hope she needed. “When I first discovered she had RHD, it felt like the world had let me down. I was devastated, especially knowing how young she was. I lost all hope until Sai Prema Children Hospital stepped in,” she explained.

“I am sincerely thankful that institutions like this exist, focused on caring for children with this condition. We, like many parents, feel blessed by this foundation—it’s nothing short of a miracle,” she added.

Ms. Sauvou encourages other parents to prioritize their children’s health and not hesitate to seek medical check-ups. “We do not have a lot of resources, but God answers prayers. He led us to the Sai Prema Foundation hospital,” she stated.

She praised the staff and medical team for their supportive approach, making Ulamila feel comfortable throughout her treatment. “It truly is a comforting environment.”
