In a remarkable success story, 80-year-old Carol Wallen from Melbourne, Australia, experienced a life-saving recovery at Pacific Specialists Healthcare (PSH) in Nadi, Fiji. Carol and her son Darren were in Fiji to celebrate her milestone birthday when she encountered severe health complications while staying at the Sheraton Fiji Resort.
After being transferred from a local clinic to Nadi Hospital due to the deterioration of her health, Darren quickly sought out PSH for better medical care. Tragically, Carol suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest, leading to her heart ceasing to beat for approximately ten minutes. Thanks to the prompt intervention from the highly skilled medical team at PSH, particularly led by Consultant Anaesthetist and Intensivist Dr. Ratu Vereniki Raiwalui, Carol was successfully resuscitated.
Upon reflecting on her treatment, Mrs. Wallen shared her gratitude, stating, “The staff have been really marvelous, and I am much better today because of that.” She expressed her intention to return to Fiji for another holiday once she fully recovers.
